Diabetic Nephropathy (DN) is a major chronic complication of diabetes mellitus (DM), and one of the main causes of new cases for dialysis, being associated with increasing mortality. The main risk factors for DN are hypertension, hyperglycemia, dyslipidemia, and genetic susceptibility.
